Never was intended to bring the refined products to US markets. Much of TransCanada's talk about jobs are window dressing to get ppl onto their side. Already showing proof that there are far more lies behind it, like the claim that US jobs would be created with the building. Well, much of the pieces have already been assembled in India. Only few jobs are needed to assemble the pieces to make the pipeline.

It's a key pipeline to allow exporting more North American oil to other parts of the world.

Keep dreaming, milespergallon. That oil isn't for us. China already made the down payment and is just waiting for delivery.

You realize that it's the height of hyprocrisy when Republicans that are so in favor of individual liberty are more than happy to use eminent domain to push through a pipeline that nobody who actually lives there wants.
Where's your freedom and liberty now?

You could attempt to educate individuals that this pipeline will only benefit Pig Oil and the Chinese market, OR just run into a brick wall headfirst.Same difference.

The Keystone XL pipeline would drive up gas prices in the Midwest. It has the potential for disastrous consequences in the event of a leak. Mining the tar sands would devastate a huge swatch of the Canadian subarctic, all in order to move low energy, trash oil across the US to be exported via the Gulf. It is a stupid idea from A to Z.

This is all about getting their golden goose to market, and that market is in Asia! We already have all the oil we can use here at the Wood River Refinery that processes the tar sands oil. ConocoPhillips got a contract deal for $15 a barrel from what I heard. They refine this into gasoline that has cost us $4 a gallon. We get no break in savings just because the refinery has a pipeline from Canada and can buy the oil cheap! Illinois has some of the highest priced gasoline in the nation! You people that think a pipeline to the Gulf will make gasoline cheaper are in for a rude awakening! Many on this forum gripe that China may get the oil if we don't allow it to cut America in half. China is going to get the oil anyway if it comes across America to the Gulf for export!

Canadian oil should stay in Canada. Our fuel prices are much higher than in the US. The only people that benefit from this are the oil companies.

With the election starting to look doubtful, the President might just say he's for the pipeline. Unfortunately, it won't help much if he doesn't allow any new refineries.

it's jobs, and lower prices, hopefully. If it's going underground and people get compensated for it I say go for it. But why is it going to be tax free???
