They should have been doing this all along. Just because you can make something cheaper if you do not dispose of the toxic wastes, you should not kill people for a buck.

If prices have to rise, I would rather see them go up because of safety refinements to the process rather than just plain greed.

I agree, we don't want to be causing cancer in people in order to produce gasoline.

Well I guess they are more concerned about their citizens than we are. Did you know that American food manufactures put less sodium in their food products in Europe, than here? They say they cannot reduce sodium in the products produce here because of cost.

Is this really an issue or just political fodder? If it is real action needs to be taken, but then of course, WE will get to pay for it.

Sadly true! Children and adults have more deformities and a higher cancer rate living near refineries. If you care about children's safety, do a google search, then read the facts.

About time someone did something besides hand these crooked SOBs a blank check and carte blanche to do whatever they feel like they need to in order to turn a bigger profit on our backs.

Oil refineries need to curb their emissions and allow only a safe level near their fefineries. There need to be periodic tests to ensure areas are reasonably safe.

I understand the need for public safety regarding health concerns, but it sure seems like the timing is suspect, and the costs will most definitely passed along ten-fold to the consumers.
